"Photography is my profession, my passion and quite possibly my obsession. I have spent most of my life looking at the world through a viewfinder either as a cameraman or photographer. Whether creating still images or filming my aim is to attract the eye and engage the viewer."
- Kevin Thomas
The Viewfinder Multimedia Company merges over twenty years experience in television production and photography with today’s digital technology. Combining creativity with professional skills I offer a range of photography, video and multimedia services. An impressive client list is a reflection of the quality of the service provided.
Photography Services
Having both professional film and digital cameras allows me to offer a comprehensive photographic service. This is supported by a range of lenses and accessories. In practical terms this allows me to take photographs from close-ups to pictures of the moon.
Often the photographic process starts even before the camera is set up. This is especially so with Commercial photography. It is essential to listen to the client and to ask the right questions in order to understand their requirements. My experience as a cameraman working with Directors makes me ideally suited to bring your vision to life.
When shooting on film I can scan images from 35mm up to 5x4 inch and supply them as digital files or prints.
Digital files can be supplied in a variety of sizes, resolutions and file formats as well as prints.
My photography is supported by excellent skills in image enhancement and manipulation.

Going beyond the image
Apart from creating images I offer a range of video and audio services. One speciality is using still photography with sound to produce short films for venue and web display. This can give advantages over conventional video offering lower costs and efficient streaming times. It is already being used on such sites as the BBC News; to view examples please select from the left-hand menu.

"Photography is such a versatile medium that for me it always seems to invite endless possibilities. There are more roads to explore than can possibly be travelled in any lifetime. It always offers challenges and the search for solutions is part of the attraction, it really is painting with light and sculpturing in time"

I gain an immense amount of personal satisfaction from being able to work with a tradition view camera. My Horseman FA45 has all the benefits of modern engineering and I use some of the finest lenses ever manufactured. Even so just like the earliest photographs I need a dark cloth to see the image on the ground glass that is upside-down and back-to-front. It reminds me that ultimately any camera is a box that simply lets in light. The skill in making an image lies with the photographer.
