WORKSHOP - ANIMATION TITLE TEST - 02/04/09
Notes: The animated sequence was made in After Effects in Standard PAL (4:3) format and imported into Premiere set to widescreen (16:9) aspect ratio; this means the sequenced is boxed. Okay it was a mistake but I like the effect and anyway as Orson Welles said, "A Director is someone who presides over accidents".
In this version I have the music finishing before the zoom move - this time it was deliberate - and I quite like the hanging in the air feel it gives. There is plenty of slack in the opening credits to move the music forward to synch it with the zoom if I change my mind.
You might notice some "sparkle" around Michael's head on the zoom in - this is a paint splatter effect and I half convinced myself it worked but seeing it reduced to this size has convinced me to loose it.
Michael is a big fan of Terry Gilliam's animation in "Monty Python's Flying Circus" so we are talking about making something in a similar vein for the film. The Workshop will be the place to see it first.
